Silicone Mirror HPSp

Areas of application

EVT Mirror HPSp may be used for the bonding of mirrors, produced in accordance with DIN regulation 1238, that feature a silver layer, a copper layer and three varnish layers. The back of antique mirrors are scratched deliberately; hence, they should not be bonded with HPSp. Bonding procedures may be carried out on almost all surfaces. EVT Mirror HPSp must not be used for the construction of aquariums, for this application, please order EVT HPAq.

Properties

EVT Mirror HPSp is a chemically neutral alcoxy system that reacts with air moisture, has a low odour, and is non-ageing. It provides strong initial adhesion, vulcanises quickly, sets quickly and has a high shear resistance.

Application

Preparation
Prior to bonding, ensure that the mirror‘s rear coating has not incurred mechanical damage, such a scratches. Please carry out preliminary tests with regard to the compatibility and adhesion of varnish layers based on bitumen. Generally, varnishes differ in composition and thickness. EVT‘s Application Technology Department offers compatibility and adhesion test services. All surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry, capable of bearing loads, and free of dust and grease. EVT Mirror HPSp adheres to a multitude of surfaces without application of a primer; however, sucking surfaces should be pre-treated with a primer. On some metals and plastics, use of a primer may improve adhesion.
Verarbeitung
Apply with a hand operated, battery operated or air pressure EVT dispensing gun. Extrude EVT Mirror HPSp in vertical beads with separating spaces of 30 cm. The applied bead diameters must be no wider than approximately 10 mm and no thinner than 2 mm. Make sure that the air circulation needed for curing is provided. Please follow the information provided by the mirror manufacturer and the technical guidelines for the glazing trade (no. 11, assembly of mirrors). For the first 48 hours after assembly (20°C/50°C relative humidity), the mirror may need mechanical support to prevent sagging.
Cleaning
Freshly applied silicone sealant can be removed with EVT Cleaner. Fully cured materials can only be removed mechanically.

Storage

In cool and dry environments, EVT Mirror HPSp can be stored for at least 12 months.

Returns policy

If you are not satisfied with our products, please return it within 14 days from date of receipt for an exchange or refund. The item(s) must be returned in an 'as new' condition with your full name, address, phone number, email address and the details of the item(s) you are returning. Furthermore, you must state your reasons for the return and if you would like to exchange the item(s) or have them refunded.

FSBF can not accept returns if the item(s) have been used or are damaged.

If FSBF receive a returned item(s) that has been used or damaged, it will be returned to sender and an invoice raised against shipping costs.

Please note that all carriage costs are non refundable.
